Halloween Votives

A couple weeks ago, a friend and I got together to craft with some of her friends- and I decided I wanted to try some vinyl projects, since she's a pro- and its always great to have help. So, after seeing these little votives on sale at wal-mart and her past post on vinyl on votives, this is what I made! (It did take me until now to finish though- I have a little bit of UFO-itis when it comes to crafts.) I used Happy Hauntings and Pumpkin Carving and cut things at about 1 inch- I think the bats are 1.5 though. And since there are leaves on the pumpkins- look close, they're there!- I am entering this in Fantabulous Cricut's leaves challenge this week. Its also entered in at the Corrosive Challenge Blog for Halloween! I did buy more votives, hoping to make a few seasonal sets, so maybe we'll see something like this again in the future!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #2- Pumpkins!

This week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut is to feature pumpkins! Which was totally perfect for me because I will be taking my one year old to a pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin this weekend! Of course, that meant I needed to do a layout instead of a card- that was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I am truly happy with how this turned out!

Papers used:
Blue/brown background- Paper Pizazz
Orange patterned- K&Company Halloween Specialty Paper
Orange- DCVW cardstock
Green & brown cardstock- no idea ;)

I used:
Lacy Labels for journaling card- 3"
Gypsy Font for title- welded on the gypsy- 1.5"
Melin's beautiful "Pick of the Patch" cut file
Ribbon pulled off of a package from someone else
And all the edges are inked with VersaMagic ink in Gingerbread

I'll give you all another peak at it when I get the pics of my beautiful baby in it!

Thank you #1

Sorry for the lack of posting, I got distracted from my papercrafting by sewing, but neither of the sewing projects are quite done- my Halloween costume needs a few finishing touches, and my quilt is at the quilter's- yay! I promise, you'll get to see both when they're done. Here's a quick thank-you card I did for a friend in the meantime. The flower is from Pagoda, both the blackout and regular layers. Then I cuttlebugged the white and black layers with swiss dots and branches, respectively. The ribbon is ripped off of an old pair of shoes- remember when the ballerina style was in a few years ago? Yeah, I had some. lol. Anyway, I was very happy with this card and am entering it in Cricut Cardz #46- Anything Goes and at My Pink Stamper for something cute.

I am on the Cooking With Cricut Design Team!!

I am so excited to finally tell you all that I am now a part of the Cooking with Cricut Design Team!!!! If you haven't visited Cooking with Cricut before you should! There are beautiful page kits and fantastic digi stamps and cut files! And now there is even an amazing (if I do say so myself) design team to bring you inspiration and challenges every Wednesday.

Here is my first challenge project:

This week's theme was Love, in honor of The Sweetest Day on Saturday. I had never heard of this holiday before, so I did a little research and found its semi-similar to Valentine's Day. With that in mind, I made this card on my Cricut using Cupcake Wrappers and Storybook. The base card is the heart topper, both layers, from Cupcake Wrappers, cut at 10". The sentiment on pop dots and from Storybook, cut at 3". I added some pink Stickles to "wish" and the swish under it. Solid colored papers are DCVW and the patterned paper is Around the Block. To finish it off, I tied a little bow with some JoAnn's ribbon found in my stash.

I'm so excited!! Now, go visit CWC to see all the other amazing projects! As an incentive, Melin is giving away two digital stamps or cutting files to a follower who leaves a comment, and there is a wonderful prize for the winners of this week's challenge!

Happy Birthday #3

This card is for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge- a celebration of National Bake and Decorate Month as well as Cardabilities Sketch #12.  I also used random, very old lace from my stash (one of those given to me by a friend who got it from a friend umpteen years ago- $0.98 for 15 yds!) which fulfills the Paper Sundaes Challenge this week. Now I just have to be patient until my grandma's birthday comes in a couple weeks!

Getting Married Means

I saw this quote while searching for an idea for a bridal shower card and had to use it. This isn't my favorite finished card, but it was fun to put together the wagon- and I thought it was an entertaining juxtaposition for a bridal shower card.
